Today the word Christian is being redefined before our eyes. The moral and righteous standard that is prevalent today in the church is so bad that it is entirely foreign to that of the early church. Our sights of moral absolutes are eroding and we are at a place where we have compromised absolute truth to a place without the powerof the cross. On the other hand if there seems to be absolute standards being presented, the life of God is sadly lackingwith an underlying miserable existence. If we continue in this pathway for some more time, then there will not be a single factor that distinguishes us from the world.
There are so many within the body that are delusional and don’t know it. Others are turning to be rebellious, asking the hard questions. The world sees a pathetic picture of a church that lacks integrity and the power to back its claims.
The good news however in all of this is that there is a growing restlessness from within the body for pure truth. There is a genuine hunger and a thirst to see the God of old no matter what the cost. However the big question is, how do we get to that place of living in the true purity and power of the gospel? What is it that got us on the wrong track?
The answer to that question is very simple, although the mistake itself has lead to a great integrated web of darkness. It lies in total surrender to the living savior of the soul. It lies in living yielded to Him everyday.
Many of the forms of Christianity that we see today are as a direct result of unyielded souls interpreting scriptures according to their whims, fancies and desires. To further this confusion we have developed cultures with them, with their foundations wrong to the very core.
For an example Christianity in a place, assumes the nature of the spirit of a place or the region. If we take America, the gospel is self-centered and majors on prosperity, similar to the spirit that is prevalent in the country. On the other hand in places like India or Africa churches are run like under dictatorship with little Love and a harsh judgmental spirit prevalent. It is the nature of the people of the world in that place that has found its way in the church also.
We view God through our unbridled desires and rebellious mindsets. As we have walked through the journey of life our hardened and unyielded hearts have made us fixed in our wrong views. Today there are many golden calves being worshiped under the name of Christ or Jehovah God.
Scriptures must always be approached from a place of yeildedness and surrender to the living God. If we do not walk the pathway of surrender, through the journey of life we will become fixed in our wrong mindsets and interpret scripture also through them.
Israel broke fellowship with the living God and built a golden calf according to the spirit of that place. It came out of their unbridled and sensual desires, calling it Jehovah God. Similarly we have done the same. We have reduced the living God before whom man is as dust, to fit into our crooked mindsets and sensual desires. No wonder there is sin prevalent in the church and the god whom we worship is powerless to heal, save and deliver.
Christianity needs to rediscover its commitment and total surrender, if it is ever to have an impact in this generation. We have brought a separation between the less committed and the ones that are, getting comfortable in our rotten lower standard. There is no such distinction; God expects total surrender from all who want to follow Him and nothing less. Rather than getting the wounded up and the fallen back in their journey to perfection, we have thrown pity parties for them. This has led people to further wallow in their sins rather than seeking deliverance and freedom.
The mercy that sustained us this far is no more and God will not anoint our so called parties and hype filled meetings anymore. He is looking for commitment, surrender and broken vessels that He can anoint in power. These are they which will carry the glory with them wherever they go.
Its time to get real, radical and commit to the Lord until death and strive to walk that out everyday in our lives. Christian live like you are supposed to!
