This way exalts self and thus resists that which brings the flesh to subjection, directly contradicting the law of life. For to follow Christ is to deny oneself and that process assumes many forms.
Soulish energy {a release of the soulish attributes with the human spirit combined devoid of the Spirit} substitutes for the Spirit of the Lord working, reproducing nothing of eternal significance. A truly darkened state that lacks a vision of the God above.
To relive the life of Christ one must return to the way of the cross, learning to deny oneself. The way of the cross is simply the will of God for an individual, which stands in contradiction to everything that is of the flesh. The place of yielding is the moment where one has to choose between pleasing God or the flesh

Paul walked the way of death that the life of Christ might flow through him. He buffeted his body to discipline, willingly suffered in the flesh that he may allow the life of Christ to freely flow through him. For when the flesh is broken, the Spirit has more liberty to work through.
Death was in work in the apostles that Christ’s life may be revealed through them (II Corinthians 4:11, 12).
Dear saint, do you really know what it is to have the life of God in you, flowing through you? Or is walking in the pathway of Life, a pathway not trod?
Submit yourself to God. Ask Him to teach you how to yield and the grace to surrender.
Know this, that unless you start walking in the way of death you will not walk in the way of Life. For the way of death is the only way to Life.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it”.
