Insights from the 2009 US Presidential Inauguration

(The perspective offered here is not a complete picture what God intends to do. It also must be viewed in light of what God wants to do and is doing during these times. The predictions here are based on spiritual perceptions on events as they are unfolding. They are the logical spiritual conclusions to events. These can dramatically be altered if God intervenes in these events.

These events are mainly in regard to America as a nation and the other nations and must be viewed separate from events relating to the church except when addressed. Also, in this article America is used as a spiritual marker. It is in the context of its influence in the world in both the natural and spiritual realms. However, this is in no ways downplaying Israel’s significance in spiritual events.)

The 2009 US Presidential Inauguration ceremony can be classified as one of the most significant events of our times. This may well be for several reasons in the natural. In the spiritual however it was a taste of the fruit of the spiritual decline this country and the world has been heading towards. This has also set the spiritual precedent for our times and the times to come for America as a nation. Whenever an event of such caliber has such glaring spiritual missteps the church will do well to discern and learn from these events. This is not to say that there wasn’t some good reflected from the event.

The times are at hand and the coming of the lawless one is not too far away. When he comes,he will come under the banner of unity amongst all religions. His way of love will be embracing sin and intolerance to those who oppose it. It will be the height of lawlessness.

He will ride on a people who have rejected God and have in their efforts achieved success or have failed to achieve and are bitter towards Him. It will be the ultimate exaltation of self and a unity of the carnal without the God of the Bible in the equation. It will be times where knowledge would have increased and perverted the way of truth and life at its source. It will be times where many will depart from the way of truth and will embrace a lie (In that light any redemption/solution to problems that does not come from God/Christ and Him crucified as its source should be approached with caution).

If we look at where we are right now, we are well on this pathway as a nation. The inaugural event had several clear markers that indicated towards that.

1)The openness in embracing other faiths.

We need to be kind to and love people of other faiths however there is a line that cannot be crossed. Two important people at the event(Inauguration) crossed this line. Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire clearly showed that he wasn’t praying to the God of the Bible when he started by saying “O God of our many understandings”. So did Rev. Joseph Lowery as he prayed to a god of all religions. “Let us take that power back to our homes, our workplaces, our churches, our temples, our mosques, or wherever we seek your will”.

This was not just a one-time event. This has been a gradual deception many have given (or are giving) into. Many in the current leadership including Obama have an unhealthy view on this that will eventually lead to embracing all religions as one if nothing happens to change it. The tolerance to such lies at such a significant event shows this. Not only that we should be aware of the deceiving spirits that have been released as a result of this spiritual door being opened.

2)Love in embracing sin?

The word of God is very clear that homosexuality and their likes is sin. From Romans we learn that people generally fall captive to it when they forsake God and are not thankful (for what He has done). America’s intolerance towards homosexuality (and likes) had been on different levels in the times before. However, in the recent times it is at its lowest. This is a clear indicator of a nation that has forsaken its creator and is on the wrong pathway.

The fact that “The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington” performed during the pre-inauguration event,gay bishop Gene Robinson led prayers at the inauguration and civil rights icon Joseph Lowery, who supports gay marriage gave the benediction is very noteworthy in the wrong light. This is a decisive and major step in preparing the way in the spiritual for the coming of the lawless one.

3) A cry towards a god.

If we had noticed the different prayers (not Rick Warrens) and the Presidents speech we would see a genuine trend in looking to god for help.The current financial crisis had contributed a great deal to it. However when people have ignored the obvious truths about God and have developed a god to fit their liking, they are already in deception.

They have rejected the truth and therefore God will send them a powerful delusion.Their prayers could very well be answered but it would be in the context of giving them over to further deception.This spiritual cry that has risen in America and to some extent in the rest of the world could very well bring in a savior to their liking.

4)The prayer of Rick Warren.

Rick Warren’s prayer at the inauguration brings out several important insights. It shows that though America in many ways has strayed away from the truth it still has a door open to the truth.There is hope until that door remains open.The church still has a voice, although its room and space is slowly and greatly diminishing.
Can the church emerge as a clear voice and a light this hour?

Rick’s stand for the truth was obvious in someways but the question to be asked is was it uncompromising? This will set the precedent for the church as a voice during Obama’s presidency. Rick was under tremendous pressure to compromise, even so the church would face similar pressure the coming days. It would be misunderstood and riled on but yet would stand purified.On the other hand there would be quite a few who would give into the pressure and compromise as a result. Even now some have chosen that way. For those who have compromised and refused to see,they will be blinded to truth and accept a lie in the coming times.

5)A unity and moral without the God of the Bible?

Obama’s speech was very noble in certain respects. It emphasized on sacrifice and a united brotherhood. It brought the need for hard work, responsibility and honesty. These by themselves are noble Virtues. They bring great fruit when put into effect with God in the picture. However, if the foundation to such qualities is wrong, it will be spiritually detrimental in the end. When people exercise such qualities without God and to build their name (or country’s) rather than Gods, it eventually creates a scenario like that of Babel in Genesis. The motto “Yes we can” can be right in only one context “In Christ (God) we can”.

In conclusion if America succeeds to overcome this current crisis at its present spiritual state it would only drift away further from God. Its foundations aren’t right to give God the credit and naturally this will give rise to (a) people who believe in themselves rather than God; a people that have rejected the truth. The present leadership Obama has chosen is a very efficient and a capable one. So, the chances to succeeding are more than before.

However, I believe God is still merciful and therefore he will allow things to take a downward spiral, which will lead to something catastrophic. This is so that people will turn to Him to see the truth. The church must be ready for this hour with the true gospel and with eternity as its focus.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take thought beforehand for the lusts of the flesh.
