“Break up your unplowed ground” .Jeremiah 4:3
Early today morning Pas.Adhikezavan and myself caught the helicopter to Theresa. The rains had ceased after lashing severely at times the past few weeks. It was just routine business for God clearing the skies for His will to be fulfilled.
We landed in Theresa Islands and it was a remote place. We arrived at the guest house and it was quite comfortable because it had an AC. Later we met the chief captain {chief captains are village heads and are very influential; A Reverend is the supreme in command in that village} of Theresa and Chowra and shared with them our heart to help them !
One of them was suspicious and a little apprehensive. Sensing it, I tried to ease the atmosphere by telling them they were under no pressure to continue helping us come there( their permission is required for entry into the Islands}. As our relationship would develop further and their trust on us builds they could think on having us there more often.
We were new to that place and were outsiders and I didn’t want us to be too pushy! It seemed to lighten them up a bit and open them a little bit more.
However in the evening as we distributed children’s bibles freely to the children in a village both of them became very open! It was a happy ending of sorts.
We have to go to Chowra Islands tomorrow { also a place closed to outsiders} and stay there for three days (not sure where yet) because of lack of ships to that place.
God who has led so far and supplied grace will continue to lead us. Not bothered about it too much as faith in God and prior journeys with Him have helped put trust in Him.
Important lesson learnt today: Discernment , wisdom and love helped break fallow ground. Grant me more of it Lord every day. Amen.
