Setting the standards for prophesying – Part 3

09/15/2009

In discussing the errors , we must always keep in mind the good also. If not we will take a turn to the negative and stay critical about everyone who prophesies. At the same time, while trying to be positive, we cannot turn a blind eye to the obvious errors.

When a doctor operates on a cancerous growth, his focus must be on the growth, he must determine how big and deep it is. He must also decide how much of good tissue he needs to remove along with the bad ones. Now, no one criticizes the doctor as to being too negative, nor chastises him for not caring about the health of the parts of the body. However, today, when people have brought out genuine concerns regarding the errors, they have been labeled as being too negative or ostracized by some. When we refuse to deal with our mistakes and keep attacking those who bring us correction, the consequences of the cancerous growths can be devastating.

Whenever God calls us to start something, there is an abundance of grace that comes with it. There is also a lot of room for error and God is merciful in order that we  learn from our mistakes. However, as time goes by, He expects us to grow in maturity. If we don’t grow up and make the necessary changes and keep continuing in our mistakes, we will soon find out that His grace has long left us and we stand exposed.

Its okay for an infant to wear diapers and make messes, but not for a grown up person. We cannot as grownups go around with diapers, making messes and expecting the Lord to clean it up each time. Brethren, we need to wake up from our sleep/ignorance, for the time for maturity has been due a long come.
