Srilanka trip – Feb 5th 2014

“The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord”- Psalms 37:23

Leaders meeting in the morning, Gospel meeting at night! Then leaving early next morning to Colombo to catch the flight home!

As I pondered on our journey, we began it at the Methodist mission in Colombo and now we were ending it again in a Methodist diocese in Muruganam!

The Methodist were some of the first missionaries ever to come to Srilanka. William had lost his wife on the journey to Srilanka, yet was firm in his resolve and established the Lord’s work in a place called Batticulo.

Thomas Cook started as a missionary but didn’t make it to Srilanka and died on the way.

As we were ministering to the Methodists, felt that behind the scenes, God was imparting something spiritual through our stay and meeting with the Methodist pastors there!

They were pioneers in regard to Missions and it was only right to start our missionary journey there and also end it there!

God’s ways are beyond comprehensions. Little do we realize that the Lord is working many things on our behalf! Even when we don’t see Him at work, we can be rest assured that He certainly is at His job.

For the designs of the master might seem vague and the pathways narrow at first, but when seen from above is a beautiful masterpiece being made ready to display His great goodness and wonders.

The leaders meeting brought to light the great need of properly equipping the saints with truth! It was sad to see most of them with little or no understanding of even basic truths, a spiritual void that needs to be filled.

God’s word was preached with authority in the evening and felt glad that was able to help the Methodists along with their journey in God!
