Spare me sorrow upon sorrow – Phillipians 2:27
It was 2 am in the morning as we got on the train! Was worried about my bad stomach; also as we had gotten tickets on a regular carriage, it would be hot and congested and the journey was more than 30 hours. I was exhausted without food and risked having dysentery again! Tablets did not seem to be helping.
We talked with the conductor about AC tickets. He agreed but asked for a bribe. I started a long conversation with him about how taking a bribe was wrong. He seemed patient for the most part, however, threatening at one point to send us back. In the end he relented and gave us the tickets for face value.
Happy about the comforts of travelling in AC I slept only to be woken up soon by bed bugs! Things couldn’t get any worse I suppose as only my berth seemed to have bed bugs! In the end slept with the bed bugs around. Out of exhaustion was sleeping for much of the day also, eating little at times and then frequenting the bathroom with the little strength I had!
