One of the few verses that I believe that God gave us for this season is from Psalms 112: 6 to 8.
“For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
Since 2020, we have witnessed an increase in turmoil around the world. From Covid to wars in Ukraine and Palestine. This shouldn’t surprise us as believers, as Jesus warned that these things would happen as we approach the end times.
2024, will be no better in that regard but rather worse as the threat of nuclear war will loom large as the world will go to the brink of it (maybe even step into it).
The way for the antichrist has been laid already and it’s only a matter of time before he comes on stage (NOT SAYING THAT IT WILL HAPPEN THIS YEAR).
Now these are the birth pangs Jesus predicted and they will only intensify, and we just need to interpret scripture simply to predict the coming days.
As we are moving into the end of end times, Psalms 112:6 to 8 is much needed for all of us. As turbulent as the seasons ahead might be, the righteous will not be shaken, they will triumph through it all. Even amidst bad news their heart is firmly connected to Christ and leans on Him as source and sustenance for everything. The key in all of this is trusting in the Lord firmly.
Our prayer as we enter into the New Year should be that we should all come to that place of complete dependency and trust in the Lord, where nothing else will matter more than Christ and Him alone. When this happens nothing shall offend or overcome us, and we will walk through situations steadfast in Him and come out triumphant for the glory of God no matter what.
As everything that can be shaken will be shaken; we will not be (if) because we have built our lives on God’s word!
